Fed's Powell: Probability of recession is not at all elevated

 

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said that he didn't feel the probability of a recession in the U.S. was not "at all elevated," while delivering his speech titled "Economic Development in High Poverty Rural Communities" at the Hope Enterprise Corporation Rural Policy Forum, in Mississippi.

 Powell further argued that the fiscal policy was a more powerful tool that the monetary policy and reiterated that the U.S. economy was in a good shape according to latest national-level data.
