UK: Annual Retail Sales rise 4.3% in January

FXStreet (Barcelona) - National Statistics informed on Friday that year-over-year UK Retail Sales grew 4.3% in January, down from the 5.3% increase in December and below forecasts of +5.0%.

On a monthly basis UK Retail Sales fell 1.5% in January, after growing 2.5% in December and below expectations of dropping 1%.

Annual Retail Sales excluding Fuel climbed 4.8%, down from the 6.1% rise and below market consensus of 5% growth. Month-over-month Retail Sales excluding Fuel dipped 1.5%, following a 2.7% increase and slightly below forecasts of -1.4%.
